SeaWorld – A Great Educational Experience

Amazing!  That is how I would describe my recent trip to SeaWorld Orlando.  There were educational opportunities around every corner!   I took an educational fieldtrip that was filled with science, math, conservation, music, literature, and so much more!  I took my own children along as “students” and they were thrilled with the experience.  Even if you are just visiting SeaWorld for fun, every exhibit has an educational instructors available to answer questions and share fun and interesting facts.  My oldest son dressed up in a whale outfit as each  was explained to us, then we went to see them in their exhibit and learned more about their habitat.  We held baby penguins, measured ourselves against the height of a polar bear, and touch a shark! I learned so much!

From fun and affordable field trips for students to amazing summer adventures, SeaWorld artfully combines education and entertainment in a way that connects people to the sea and sea life like nowhere else. Whether you spend time with a SeaWorld Instructor or chart your own course with the curriculum we provide, you’ll find inspiration in SeaWorld’s animal shows and attractions and pick up some valuable lessons along the way. Plus, their programs support Sunshine State Standards, National Education Standards and the essential principles of the Ocean Literacy Project.

Please visit the Seaworld website for classroom resources including animal information, curriculum guides and more.
