DUI Awareness

The Meagan Napier Foundation in partnership with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Washington County school Board and the Panhandle Area Educational Consortium will present a remarkable story of tragedy, forgiveness, and DUI Awareness.  On May 11, 2002, Meagan Napier and her friend Lisa Jo Dickson were killed by drunk driver Eric Smallridge.  Erick is currently serving time in a Florida Prison for the deaths.  The families involved believe it is extremely important to educate everyone about the horrible consequences to drinking and driving. Meagan’s mother will present her testimony, show videos, and introduce Eric to students so that he can share his story.  He will appear bound by shackles and handcuffs and escorted by prison guards.  This extraordinary event will be broadcast live over the Florida Education Channel and made available to school districts across Florida.  It can be viewed live at 9:00 a.m. CST on Thursday, February 16th by going to www.fec.tv and following the link.
